| Hey kids,
My husband wants to go on a week-long Disney cruise for his 50th birthday in
January 2002 (Im on the floor in shock, but thats another story).
Whats the story on pricing for the cruise line? Is there a route to go that
will provide the best price?
I could renew my Disney Club card when it expires this July -- I could
also buy
another Annual Pass for next year. I have an American Express card. And Im
ready to book now, a year in advance.
Whatcha think?
Planning my next trip WAY WAY too far in advance...

| In my parents case, my dad does *everything* for vacation planning except
the packing --
from the research to the budgetting, to making the money, to choosing the
itinerary, (ship in the case of cruises), planning excursions, etc. My
mother does the pre and post trip laundy, ironing and packing, mostly
because she is *neat freak* :-) and watns everything just right. I guess
the packing in this case includes shopping for new clothes if necessary.
If things were left to my mother, I dont theink theyd ever travel, as my
mother doesnt enjoy the fuss and bother of arranging trips, nor the
travel to get there. Once on board (or once in the country, in the case
of land trips), she gets into the of things....but its really my
Dad who **loves** to travel! |
| Happy cruise planning! Cruises are great family vacations, IMHO--everyone
gets to do his/her own thing, but the family can enjoy quality time together,
as well. |
| You should also pay attention to excursions by timing--for example, you can
only see certain bears in certain months out of certain ports! If you are
planning to cruise in May or September to save money on the cruise rate itself,
some excursions will be unavailable or less desirable in the early/late season. |
| I think a big part of the fun for me is the planning and anticipation.
I even enjoy planning cruises Ill probably never go on (the ones where
I am treating all 16 family members to owners suits). I have all
brochures from most of the lines and at night before I fall asleep I
take them out and look them over and say Where shall I go today... |
