Oh, every one with an engine has a range but it isnt a factor in planning cruises for a real sailing vessel. Or a really long range motor vessel, for that matter. Our modest trawler has about 1500 miles range which means we could only go to New England and back without refueling.... not a factor in planning cruises of less than a full season.
You should also pay attention to excursions by timing--for example, you can only see certain bears in certain months out of certain ports! If you are planning to cruise in May or September to save money on the cruise rate itself, some excursions will be unavailable or less desirable in the early/late season.
Thanks, Becca! Im improving each day and planning cruises keeps my spirits up, soooooo~ that is exactly what I am doing!! Im really looking forward to meeting you soon~~have heard so many nice things about you and certainly believe them~~ from the many thoughtful e-mails that I have received from you!
If you are planning a cruise on Royal Caribbean but arent exactly sure of what ship or what itinerary you want, and are tired of re-calling and repeatedly talking over and over to travel agents or scouring web sites for more info than the common brochures give, even if you have sailed them in the past but want to know more about other ships and other itineraries then I have two books that you as the consumer could use that would greatly help answer SO many questions and give so many more details and facts than what the flimsy brochures offer.
Hey kids, My husband wants to go on a week-long Disney cruise for his 50th birthday in January 2002 (Im on the floor in shock, but thats another story). Whats the story on pricing for the cruise line? Is there a route to go that will provide the best price? I could renew my Disney Club card when it expires this July -- I could also buy another Annual Pass for next year. I have an American Express card. And Im ready to book now, a year in advance. Whatcha think? Planning my next trip WAY WAY too far in advance... Amanda Parr, Certified Loin Inspector Planning: 01 All-Star Music 02 Contemporary Tower & Disney Cruise combo
