I think a big part of the fun for me is the planning and anticipation. I even enjoy planning cruises Ill probably never go on (the ones where I am treating all 16 family members to owners suits). I have all brochures from most of the lines and at night before I fall asleep I take them out and look them over and say Where shall I go today...

Hey kids, My husband wants to go on a week-long Disney cruise for his 50th birthday in January 2002 (Im on the floor in shock, but thats another story). Whats the story on pricing for the cruise line? Is there a route to go that will provide the best price? I could renew my Disney Club card when it expires this July -- I could also buy another Annual Pass for next year. I have an American Express card. And Im ready to book now, a year in advance. Whatcha think? Planning my next trip WAY WAY too far in advance... Amanda Parr, Certified Loin Inspector Planning: 01 All-Star Music 02 Contemporary Tower & Disney Cruise combo
In my and my fiances case, we do the planning, research and packing together. WE raise the funds together, do the budget -- although usually I do more of the initial research and he does a little more of the number crunching. Basically, though, Id say all of the work is split downt he middle....partly becasue were both really picky people, and partly because we both *love* to travel and have strong opinions. Glad to report that *Im* the one who found the *perfect& itinerary for our honeymoon -- two back to back cruises on the Enchantment....June 20 & 27. (We watned to do Europe but couldnt get the right itinerary at the right time without blowing our budget!( Once I found the itineraries, together we selected our cabin, meal sittings, flight times, etc.... Were a good team :-)
Hey, Jim... We have loads of fun planning cruises, so Im recommending my own personal cruise planner at http://CandyBrock.com. It includes explanations, tips about everything from Azipods to Zuiderdam and includes reviews and links to loads of other cruising sites. Were about your age, and our best cruises have been on HAL and RCI. Our next is HALs new Zuiderdam in October and prolly TransCanal or Hawaii in May or June. Have fun!
